A cinema is set to form part of the Charter Place scheme in the centre of Watford if the local authority agreed to adopt Henry Boot Developments as its new partner.
Watford Borough Council's (WBC) previous preferred development partner - London and Regional - pulled out as it was deemed that the plans no longer fitted with its core focus. Members of WBC's cabinet are now poised to recommend the appointment of Henry Boot Developments as the new preferred partner at its meeting on 6 June.
Elected mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "We are still working to the same budget and timeline, and our residents will still get a fantastically redeveloped shopping centre for Watford." It is hoped the phased development will still be completed by 2014-15.
