China's first Park Hyatt resort opens
Hyatt Hotels Corporation (HHC) has unveiled China's first Park Hyatt-branded property in the eastern coastal city of Ningbo - the 236-bedroom Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort and Spa.
The resort is located next to Dong Qian Lake and is surrounded by tea plantations, Buddhist temples and working fishing villages, offering services for both leisure and business guests.
A fitness pavilion housing a heated indoor swimming pool; a gym; a reflexology area; and an outdoor infinity pool is among the facilities, while the Yue Hu Spa is due to open in March and will use ESPA products.
The spa area will span 8,935sq m (96,176sq ft) and incorporate a group of free-standing villas, which include 10 pavilions with a massage room; a foot massage area; and a dressing room.
A steamroom shower; a sauna; a dining area; and a private garden with a pool, a shower and outdoor whirlpool baths will also form part of the Yue Hu Spa's pavilions.
Meanwhile, a 583sq m (6,275sq ft) deluxe spa pavilion has been designed for groups and is to feature a massage room; a foot massage room; and a lounge and dining area.
Male and female changing areas with steamroom showers and saunas; a private garden with a pool and outdoor whirlpool baths; and a dining space also form part of the deluxe pavilion.
A spokesperson said: "[The spa] offers a wide selection of western and oriental treatments focusing on holistic wellness that adopt the principles of ancient Chinese wellness philosophy centred on the meridian system and on balancing qi."
Resort general manager Ivan Leung added: "We look forward to inviting guests to experience the contemporary luxury and personalised service of a Park Hyatt, while discovering some of the lesser known delights of this beautiful area."
