Chewton Glen completes £3.5m refurbishment
Hampshire-based hotel and spa, Chewton Glen, has completed extensive refurbishments to its bar, restaurant and conservatory areas at a cost of £1.5m.
The spa was originally built 12 years ago and refurbishments were completed in two stages. The first stage, which happened 18 months ago, was a £2m reorganisation and 50 per cent enlargement of the existing spa, which included adding three more treatment rooms, new changing rooms and extending the lounge area.
The second stage, which has just been completed, was to complete construction of the hydro spa, which is housed in a separate building and is connected to the inner pool area by a short corridor. The second stage also include renovating and redesigning the bar and restaurant area.
The hydra spa comprises six different treatments within one pool and was designed primarily by architect Chris Turton of SJD Design, who has previously worked on many spa constructions aboard luxury cruise ships. Details: www.chewtonglen.com
