Carpigiani to launch new museum dedicated to artisan gelato

Carpigiani Gelato Museum, a new attraction dedicated to the history, culture and technology of artisan gelato, will open on 27 September in Anzola Emilia near Bologna, Italy.
The new 1,000sq m (10,764sq ft) attraction is located at the headquarters of Carpigiani - the manufacturer of ice cream machines and equipment - and is built around a central garden.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to examine more than 20 original machines and 10,000 historical artefacts central to the heritage and cultural significance of gelato.
An interactive tour will highlight three main themes surrounding the product - its evolution over time; the history of its production; and the places and means of consuming gelato.
Carpigiani Group general manager Andrea Cocchi said: "The challenge is now to reaffirm the historical memory of our roots so as to strengthen our future."
