Carlson Rezidor announces opening of first hotel in Chongqing

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the opening of its first property in the Chinese city of Chongqing - the 308-bedroom Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing.
The launch means that the hotel company now has 80 properties in operation across the Asia-Pacific region, with a further 76 under development. This year will see a total of 16 openings.
Facilities include a fitness centre, a yoga room and a heated indoor swimming pool, while the hotel's dining options include Shiki Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant and Sushi Bar.
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group president, Asia Pacific, Simon Barlow said: "This marks the steady growth of the Radisson Blu brand and Carlson Rezidor's presence in China.
"With a total of 16 scheduled hotels openings for 2012 in Asia Pacific, we are well on track with our growth strategy to strengthen our portfolio in this fast growing region."
