Calcot Manor to open £2.5m spa
Calcot Manor in the Cotswolds is to open a £2.5m Calcot spa in April
The addition to the privately-owned, 28-bedroomed hotel will house a 16-metre indoor pool, a gym equipped with Techogym equipment, a Hamman bed, six treatment rooms and a cosmetics area. The spa is being built around an enclosed courtyard garden leading to tennis courts, which will boast an eight-seater hot tub set in a decked area in front of a log fire.
Spa Manager, Cathy Ball, says personalised programmes will be tailored towards the individual: 'As regards fitness, for instance, it's not just a question of dedicating an area for a gymnasium and then providing state-of-the-art equipment since Calcot will work with the customer to focus on their general well-being and overall needs.
'Hotel guests and spa members can count upon the personal training, assessment, encouragement and motivation offered by our professionally qualified team of therapists and trainers. To ensure that such a high level of service can be delivered, Spa membership will be limited to 500 people.'
Architects, Corporate Edge (previous projects include Champneys and Cannons), have been working on the design of the Spa, housed in a two-storey separate Cotswold stone building.
Calcot is working with Spa Consultant, Jean Oliver, to develop its range of holistic and anti-ageing treatments. Some 50 specialist treatments will be offered including facials, body and aromatherapy massages, pedicures and manicures. Traditional philosophies and more contemporary approaches will balance alongside one another with an emphasis on Guinot and Aromatherapy Associates.
The Spa also offers a Dry Flotation system with a pressure free and body-shaped free-floating bed being used either for a single treatment or in conjunction with the Hamman table. Details: www.calcotmanor.co.uk/spa
