Café Royal in London set to open as luxury hotel in December
Café Royal on Regent Street, London is set to re-launch as a luxury hotel in December.
Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the iconic property has been restored into a contemporary 159-guestroom hotel over the past four years.
Café Royal will house a 120sq m (1,292 sq ft) Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre that will span two floors and has been developed in conjunction with Netherlands-based 4SeasonsSpa.
The centre houses a large lap pool and four different areas, corresponding to the four elements: water (spa), fire (gym), air (yoga) and earth (organic bar).
The spa offers a variety of Watsu hydro-experiences, a hammam and signature Akasha treatments.
The lower floor boast offer a wet room; a dry sauna; and a watsu pool. A yoga studio and a gym feature on the upper-floor.
There are a range of restaurants, cafes and bars including the Grill and Domino rooms, which were frequented by Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw and Virginia Woolf.
Café Royal will also house five meeting, conference and social function rooms.
