CHI spa concept debuts at Rasa Sayang
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, the Asia-based luxury hotel group, has opened its first spa in Malaysia under its signature CHI brand at the Rasa Sayan Resort.
The spa launch was part of a two-year, RM100m (US$28.6m, 22.1m euro, £14.6m) redevelopment of the resort.
The CHI spa has been designed to be a wellness village sanctuary, within 40,900sq ft (3,800sq m) of gardens. Facilities include 11 treatment villas, a yoga studio and a whirlpool.
Treatments are informed by Peranakan culture, which is the result of Portugese, Dutch, British, Malay and Indonesian influences on the old immigrant Chinese community that settled in Malacca, Penang and Singapore.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently manages 49 hotels under its Shangri-La and Traders brands with more than 40 projects currently under development worldwide – including mainland China, the US, the United Arab Emirates, France and Japan.
