BugWorld Experience set for expansion
Dublin-based Rogers Group Investments (RGI), which owns the BugWorld Experience in Liverpool, is exploring plans for a national and international roll-out of the attraction concept.
RGI has placed the concept at the heart of Rogers Group Leisure, a vehicle set up to create and operate attractions across the UK and beyond. Leicester-based Haley Sharpe Design (HSD) has been selected as RGI's long-term exhibition designer, while the Surrey-based Petersham Group is set to help draw up a roll-out strategy for the attraction.
HSD has been asked to examine and review the attraction's 'pilot offer' in Liverpool's Albert Dock and to develop a concept that will help shape the development of new BugWorld Experiences. RGI Leisure owner Des Rogers added: "The new concepts developed by Haley Sharpe are really exciting. We are very proud of what we have created, and entering this next phase of BugWorld's evolution is going to be fun.
"We have enquiries from UK, Europe and North America, from both zoological establishments and from those seeking to invest in a stand-alone commercial attraction." HSD project manager Keith Gray said: "The result is a new concept that offers greater immersion in the world of insects, more bug interaction and some really exciting technology interactives."
