Bromsgrove landfill site to become golf course
Bromsgrove's Marlbrook Tip, a landfill site used since 2006 to enable construction firms to deposit waste, is to be transformed into a golf course.
With the site now nearing its capacity, its owners have confirmed plans to use the remaining space to place top soil and grass as part of a landscaping scheme. Work is scheduled for completion by the summer, and Bromsgrove District Council (BDC) has said the land will be used in the creation of a new golf course for the area.
BDC portfolio holder for planning and regeneration Jill Dyer said: "This site has been controversial as nearby residents have complained about the number of lorries using the facility and the dust and dirt these create not to mention the noise. "Thanks to the Council working closely with the owners of the site that the only other dumping at this facility will be for final landscaping purposes."
