British Museum to use Art Fund Prize money for Spotlight Tours
The British Museum has announced that it will use the £100,000 it received for winning last year's Art Fund Prize to fund a series of Spotlight Tours across the UK.
A number of single "star" objects from the institution's collection will be put on show at venues around the country, such as a bronze bust of Herakles at Bexhill's De La Warr Pavilion from 30 June.
Spotlight Tours will also include the Gayer-Anderson Cat, which is set to travel to Scotland's Shetland Museum and Archives between 8 September and 9 December.
De La Warr Pavilion curator David Rhodes said: "The Bronze Herakles will have a huge impact on our visitors through its impressive physical presence and will act as an introduction to the ancient Games.
"The pavilion is known primarily as a centre for contemporary art, so this sculpture will provide an unusual and surprising juxtaposition for our visitors."
