Bridgwater pool plans move forward
Plans for the development of a new swimming pool in Bridgwater, Somerset, have received a boost after Somerset County Council approved detailed planning permission.
The complex - green lighted by the council's regulation committee - will be sited at the new Chilton Trinity School being built under the Building Schools for the Future programme. Proposals for the Scott Brownrigg Architects-designed facility include a 25m x 13m pool; a 13m x 7m training pool' changing rooms and a 25-station fitness suite.
Spectator seating and a café area are also planned as part of the new swimming pool, which is to be delivered by BAM Construction on behalf of Sedgemoor District Council (SDC). A SDC spokesperson said: "Somerset County Council's Regulation Committee passed the detailed planning permission for a swimming pool, to be located at Chilton Trinity Technology College in Bridgwater a part of Building Schools for the Future programme."
