Branson introduces exclusive spa on Necker
The spa amenities at Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, must rate as one of the most precious and reclusive spa facilities in the world.
As access to the resort can be obtained only by booking the entire island, the treatments available will probably only be used by the rich and famous.
Handpicked by Leesa Penny and provided by Guinot and the Aromatherapy Associates, the Necker treatments include massages, aromatherapies, stone therapies, facials, body wraps and a range of skin care remedies.
A Beaute Neuve treatment, using enzymes and acids from freshly picked fruit, will also be available.
The island offers swimming pools, whirlpools and plunge pools as well as the private beaches which face the Caribbean Sea on the south side of the island and the Atlantic Ocean on the north.
Development on the island – which is owned by Branson – began in 1982. It can accommodate single groups of up to 26 guests.
A typical three-night, long weekend stay for a group of 15 costs $6,000 (£3,300) per person. Details: www.neckerisland.com
