Bevan Brittan breakfast briefing: employment law
On Tuesday 27 November 2007 Law Firm Bevan Brittan LLP will be holding a free seminar and workshop focussing on the often tricky subject of Employment Law.
With over 1.9 million employees’ the Leisure and Hospitality Sectors are one of the largest employer groups contributing to the national workforce and this workshop aims to aid understanding of the legal issues and obligations affecting the hospitality industry in terms of employment law.
With advice and information on maximising efficiency and productivity as well as avoiding costly and time consuming claims and minimising the financial implications of getting things wrong the event is of paramount importance to Human Resource Directors, Managers and Advisers, Operations Directors, Recruitment Consultants, In-House Lawyers as well as anyone involved in team management.
The seminar will be focusing on some of the key issues of employment law, which include:
• Creating and managing a flexible workforce (such as atypical workers, part-time and seasonal staff)
• Getting the best out of the workforce in terms of effective sickness and performance management • Complying with the Working Time Regulations, including the impact of recent legislative changes
• The recent Employment Tribunal decision regarding the lawful implementation of Tronc schemes, including taxation implications.
