BIAT awards for architectural excellence
The British Institute of Architectural Technologists is inviting entries for the 2002 BIAT Open Award for Technical Excellence in Architectural Technology.
The award is designed to recognise technical excellence in the built environment and is open to all professionals - any individual, practice, group of people or corporate body.
Entrants must demonstrate their achievement of technical excellence in construction by illustrating the composition of ideas put into practice and presented in a working format. The 2001 winner was Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners for the Eden Project, Cornwall. Highly commended was RKD Architects for the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin.
The winners, with prizes of up to £1200, will be publicised through Architectural Technology magazine. The awards will be announced and presented at the Institute's Annual Dinner Dance in Cardiff on 23 November 2002. The closing date for entries is 4 October.
