BHA bids fond farewell to departing members of head office team
Members of the BHA may be interested to know that two members of the British Hospitality Association’s head office team left for pastures new this month.
Company secretary Bill Hegarty and Anju Karir, accounts executive, both joined the Association in 1996, and with 18 years’ collective service to the hospitality industry became highly valued members of the head office staff.
Bill joined the association after many years as a financial controller of large London hotels including Claridge’s and The Royal Lancaster. As company secretary, he worked part-time looking after the finance and statutory requirements of the association's activities. A keen golfer, he also organized the BHA’s annual Bessborough Trophy golf competition.
In her role as accounts executive, Anju Karir worked in the membership department dealing with the main membership invoicing and payments, and also had a hands-on role with many of the association’s events. Anju has left the BHA to enter into a new business venture with her partner.
Both will be sorely missed, and we wish them well for the future.
