BHA awards announced
The winners of the annual British Hospitality Association (BHA) Awards have been announced at a ceremony in London.
The awards, which commend outstanding service to the tourism and hospitality industry, were presented at the BHA's luncheon at Grosvenor House.
The Brand of the Year award was given to Jamie's Italian while the Tourism Award was handed to The Graves family, owners of Armathwaite Hall - a spa hotel near Keswick in Cumbria.
Best Western Hotels received the Marketing Award for its £1m advertising campaign and City Inn won the Innovation award for the upgrading of its guest facilities and meeting space.
BHA Member of the Year Award went to Tragus Holdings and its chief executive Graham Turner, for the company's support of the association on key issues in food service, including the FSA's growing interest in calorie-counted menus and its introduction of Scores on the Doors.
Thistle Hotels, and the Thistle Marble Arch in particular, for its ongoing and proactive programme of improving accessibility and staff awareness in its hotels, was given the Tourism for All Award.
The Sustainable Business Award went to ARAMARK.
