On Friday 26 June, the ME-051-03 Australian Standards Committee for Indoor Play met at Professor Eager's office at UTS for its first meeting in 12 months.

Australian Standards had posted the Indoor Play Draft as Provisional and left the committee in limbo.

Through talks between the committee and management of Australian Standards, the Committee has been given permission to work on the Draft Standard for Indoor Play without assistance from Australian Standards.

The committee members - David Eager (Professor of Engineering UTS), Mike Burchett & Denis Beltrame (AAA representatives), Tim Newman Morris, Ken Smith & Jeana Zacchini (AALARA representatives) and new member Kate Fraser (Kids Safe, Child Accident Protection Foundation of Australia) are all committed to finalising the Draft as soon as possible.

Their next meeting is scheduled for 30 July on the Gold Coast, incorporating several site inspections of some of the latest equipment in Indoor Play.
