Starwood Hotels & Resorts luxury hotel brand W has entered China with the launch of the W Hong Kong property.

Located in a waterfront skyscraper in the middle of the city’s new commercial, entertainment and cultural district, W Hong Kong features 393 bedrooms, including 42 suites, as well as Asia’s first Bliss spa.

Bliss Hong Kong covers two floors and features a boutique, two movie-while-you-manicure loungers, nine treatment suites including two couples’ rooms, men’s and women’s lounges, and relaxation rooms.

Other facilities include two restaurants, a highly-elevated hotel swimming pool, a large fitness offering and event and meeting space.

The hotel’s design has taken inspiration from the heritage and mysticism of traditional Chinese culture. Lead designers on the development were Yasimuchi Morita of Glamorous Corporation and Nic Graham of the g+a practice.

The property is owned by Sun Hung Kai Properties and is intended to become the centrepiece for the rapidly expanding new West Kowloon district. Details: whotels.com
