Aquaterra teams up with England Basketball to offer exciting playing opportunities
Aquaterra is delighted to announce that it has joined forces with England Basketball to host new and exciting recreational basketball opportunities for Londoners at the Sobell Leisure Centre in Islington, including a league, weekly open sessions and regular community events - all at an affordable price.
The first open session at the end of July proved highly popular with an enthusiastic 30 players turning up.
The first London Rec Basketball 8-10 week league, part of England Basketball's Ball Again programme, will launch on 5 September, with a Men's 5-on-5 and a Women's 3-on-3.
It costs £300 to enter per team, or £50 per individual. Every team that enters will get up to 10 games of full court basketball with two qualified referees per game. Prizes are up for grabs and so is the chance to win the prestigious London Rec Basketball trophy.
Speaking on behalf of England Basketball, Sheena Atkin (London Basketball Development Officer) said:
"In the aftermath of 2012, we want to move with the momentum and give Londoners the casual playing opportunities that they've been needing for some time now."
Antony Kildare, Chief Executive, Aquaterra said:
"We are thrilled to be teaming up with England Basketball to deliver these fantastic playing opportunities for Londoners. We're passionate about investing in communities at their heart and working with partners to improve quality of life, health and wellbeing."
