Apple Leisure Group building up its Caribbean portfolio of spa resorts
Apple Leisure Group (ALG) is growing its presence in the Caribbean market with the opening of a new luxury resort near Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
The 457-bedroom, adults-only resort will be operated under the Secrets brand and will be managed by ALG’s subsidiary AMResorts.
Facilities at the Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa include a Spa by skincare brand Pevonia, an infinity pool and access to a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.
Located within a gated community, the resort will also have access to a private marina, stables and an equestrian centre with polo fields.
Targeting high-end, luxury travellers, the property is the second Secrets-branded resort in the Dominican Republic and brings the total number of sites in the Secrets portfolio to 15.
The resort’s Secrets Spa by Pevonia houses a number of treatment rooms, wet areas and outdoor treatment areas.
Offerings include seaweed wraps, deep-tissue massage and after-sun facials. Among the spa's signature treatments is the “Romance in Paradise,” designed for couples, which combines Swedish massage with his and hers facials.
According to Javier Coll, ALG’s executive vice president, the opening is part of a strategic push to further expand the group’s luxury offering – with the Secrets brand at the heart of it.
"As we pursue AMResorts' aggressive growth strategy to deliver more luxury vacation offerings in new and exciting destinations, our romantic, adults-only Secrets Resorts & Spas brand continues to play a pivotal role in our development and success," he said.
Earlier this year, ALG opened the Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa in Jamaica.
