Anytime Leisure acquires Cardinal Sports
Anytime Leisure, the independent fitness equipment supplier, has bought Cardinal Sports in a deal that aims to strengthen the group's position in Scotland's health and fitness industry.
It is anticipated that the merged business will see Anytime Leisure deliver a turnover of £4m in 2011, with an expansion into the English and Irish markets being considered for 2012. In addition to equipment sales, Anytime Leisure also provides gym design, maintenance and management services and will incorporate Cardinal Sports' operations as part of the deal.
Cardinal Sports, which has provided equipment, services and support to the Scottish sector for more than 20 years, will continue to operate from its current location to avoid disruption. Anytime Leisure managing director Paul Bodger said: "We've been growing rapidly for the past two years and the whole team has been working hard to consistently deliver high service levels.
"Cardinal has one of the best reputations in the UK for sports and fitness equipment. Their resources and staff will add a great deal of strength - to have them join our team is incredible."
