Anytime Fitness continues growth with Derby opening
fitness'>Anytime Fitness will be opening a 3,778sq ft (351sq m) franchise in a new residential development in Derby on a 15-year lease.
The Castleward gym is one of the first tenants of the development, which is between the city's main shopping centre and train station. The development has three large units and eight smaller ones, alongside 164 homes.
The gym will feature 13 pieces of Precor cardiovascular equipment, including two Experience Series EFX 800 with converging CrossRamp and five next-generation treadmills, all showcasing the P82 console – connected with Preva networked fitness - so members can track exercise history.
The gym also features a Queenax corner unit along with 10 stations of Precor Vitality Series strength equipment, two plate loaded machines, a power rack, two Concept 2 Rowers and a Smith machine. The fitness facility also boasts an indoor cycling studio with Precor Spinner bikes and will be offering instructor-led fitness classes and virtual classes using the Wellbeats system.
Franchisee Teddy Andres, who is training for his first Ironman in July, said: “Our focus is on member experience. We aim to offer high quality facilities with a limited number of members, providing a higher than average staff to member ratio. We’ll also be organising club events to actively encourage members to meet each other, enabling a positive club atmosphere as opposed to merely providing a training facility.”
The gym will be open 24-hours, seven days a week and will have regularly staffed hours from Monday to Saturday.
Anytime Fitness, which opened its 100th UK site in January, now has more than 110 franchises in the country.
