Former regional competitive 400-metre sprinter Peter Arnold will be opening an fitness'>Anytime Fitness gym within a retail and business complex in High Green, Cannock, Staffordshire.

The 5,580 sq ft (518 sq m) gym will feature 30 pieces of Precor cardiovascular equipment, including two Experience Series EFX 800 with converging CrossRamp and four treadmills, all with the P82 console and fully networked with Preva.

Members of the 24-hour fitness club will be provided with a RFID-enabled key fob that is linked to Preva networked fitness, which enables users to follow their progress.

The gym will also feature a Queenax wall unit along with seven-stations of Precor Vitality Series strength equipment, three plate-loaded machines, a power rack, two Concept II Rowers and a Smith machine.

The fitness facility will boast an indoor cycling studio and will be offering a combination of instructor-led fitness sessions, as well as virtual classes using the Wellbeats system, providing more than 200 classes on-demand. Insanity classes will also be available.

Arnold, who has worked in the fitness and leisure industry for over 15 years, said: “I have managed sports and fitness facilities in the area and will be using my extensive knowledge and understanding of the sector to create the best member experience possible. The club is built around the community and we want to ensure every member has a unique and positive fitness experience when they visit.”

Justin Smith, head of UK at Precor added: “Anytime Fitness Cannock will play an integral role as a local gym for the local community. It aims to offer friendly support so that members can exercise in a relaxed environment to help them achieve their goals.”

The club is set to open before Easter.

Members of Anytime Fitness Cannock will be able to access more than 3,300 gyms worldwide and 119 in the UK.
