Angsana Riads Collection to open in Marrakech
Asian resort and spa operator Banyan Tree Holdings – which operates the Angsana brand – is to add to its portfolio of properties with the launch of the Angsana Riads Collection, in Marrakech, Morocco, in late 2007.
Featuring seven different, traditional Moroccan houses, known as riads, the first two riads to open will be the Riad Aida – which offers guests three suites and three standard rooms and Riad Lydines – which has seven rooms with a built-in fireplace in two of the rooms and a rooftop dining area.
These will be followed by the Riad Si Said, Riad Blanc, Riad Bab Firdaus, Riad Dar El Farah and Riad Bagdad.
Each riad has been furnished in a traditional Moroccan style while the collection will also feature an Angsana Spa, with a signature range of spa treatments.
The development is located a 20 minute drive away from the Menara International Airport in the heart of Marrakech.
Other facilities will include a tree-lined terrace dining area and a dedicated ‘host’, assigned to each riad, who will attend to guests’ needs.
The group also recently announced plans to open a further three Banyan Tree branded spas and seven Angsana spas are also due to open under the group’s management over the next year.
