Andre Balazs' Chiltern Firehouse hotel to open in May
The highly-anticipated London debut from renowned hotelier Andre Balazs, The Chiltern Firehouse, is expected to open at the beginning of May.
Set in an old Marylebone fire station, the 26-suite Firehouse is the first international property in his collection of bespoke, luxury hotels which include the Mercer in New York and the iconic Chateau Marmont in Hollywood.
Both were acclaimed restorations of historic buildings and Balazs will be hoping to repeat the trick with his latest offering at the Grade-II listed victorian fire house.
Although the hotel isn’t due until May, the attached restaurant opened in February and is already making waves.
Amid several rave reviews, the eatery has also attracted a reputation as a celebrity haunt, with stars such as Harry Styles, Kate Moss and Prince Harry spotted at its tables.
Featuring a large open kitchen and a design from Paris-based Studio KO, the restaurant is helmed by Michelin starred chef Nuno Mendes, who has drawn on his formative years cooking in the US to develop the ingredient-focused menu.
