Amani spa with exotic tiled rasul opens at Radisson Blu Rwanda
Carlson Rezidor has opened a Radisson Blu hotel and convention centre in Kigali, Rwanda that features a spa operated by Amani.
The hotel and convention centre also includes 292 bedrooms and conference facilities that can host more than 5,000 people.
The project is owned by UCL, a joint venture co-owned by the Government of Rwanda through the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) and Prime Holdings Ltd as well as private investors, including Crystal Ventures Ltd and Rwanda Investment Group (RIG).
"This new opening in Rwanda further strengthens our position in the East African Economic Community and on the African continent,” said Andrew McLachlan, senior vice president of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “Africa is our biggest growth market where, on average, we have signed a new hotel every 37 days and opened a new hotel every 60 days. Radisson Blu is Europe's largest upper upscale brand and Africa's fastest growing brand with the largest pipeline of hotel rooms under development on the continent. The opening in Kigali solidifies the brand's pole position and supports our long-term growth strategy in Africa."
The spa includes one double and two single treatment rooms, as well as an exotic mosaic tiled rasul and male and female saunas and steam rooms. The name Amani means ‘peace and harmony’ in Swahili, and the spa aims to create a sense of inner peace, to help people reconnect with themselves and to improve their quality of life.
Signature treatments include the Amani Jewel of Africa massage – which uses crystals, warm coconut oil and flowing movements – as well as the Rasul Steam Cocoon, an Arabian-inspired treatment using therapeutic mud to cocoon the body.
The hotel also includes a fitness centre equipped with high-tech cardiovascular and weight-training facilities.
