Abbeydale Tennis club gets a face lift
Abbeydale tennis club in Sheffield has undergone a £1.5m redevelopment.
Work included the refurbishment of all eight courts, four of which are indoors, and the building of a new clubhouse designed by the Yorkshire-based architects Wildblood Macdonald.
The facilities in the new clubhouse include changing rooms, refreshment facilities for members, a licensed bar, café, roof terrace and function room for special events.
The revamp was funded by a £1m grant from the Lawn Tennis Association.
John Gledden, managing director at Abbeydale tennis club, said "We wanted to create a venue which was accessible for the whole family, but also continuing to offer high-class facilities excellent coaching for the many young and upcoming players professional players from this region."
