ARK Leisure opens flagship health club
ARK Leisure Management opened its flagship club, Thirtysevendegrees, at the More London development near Tower Bridge on 10 May.
The £5m site, with a total floorspace of 24,000sq ft (2,230sq m), has a 5,000sq ft (465sq m) gym fitted with Precor equipment, a 20m swimming pool, a sauna, a steamroom, a beauty spa, a hair salon and a boxing ring.
It also features an indoor golf lounge, where members can use one of two golf simulators to play different golf courses around the world.
The club is a joint venture between Close Brothers Investments and Tower Bridge Health Clubs – which is a sub-division of ARK – and was designed by London-based SHH.
Andy Kay, co-owner of ARK, said that he and his business partner, Mhairi FitzPatrick, are “actively searching out new sites” in London and other UK cities for a new Thirtysevendegrees club. Details: www.ark-leisure.com
