New Juventus stadium to open next month
Juventus football club, based in Turin (Italy), is to officially open its new stadium on 8 September. The arena was designed by architects Hernado Suarez (Studio Chiesa), Gino Zanavella (Studio Gau) and Al Group of Turin.
Juventus has invested 105m euros (£91m, $US149m) in the 41,000 capacity venue, which replaces the club's old Delle Alpi.
The 71,000 capacity Delle Alpi was suffered from poor attendance during the latest seasons with averages falling to 26,000 spectators per game.
The new Juventus stadium includes 3,600 VIP seats and more than 100 executive boxes. The stands will be around eight meters away from the pitch, offering the fans to be 15 meters closer than the stands of Delle Alpi.
The as yet unnamed stadium also features new training fields, underground car parks, a gymnasium for the players, two shopping centers, an expandable parking space which can fit around 4,000 cars, a Juventus history museum, restaurants and a hotel.
Juventus is the first Italian club to build and own its venue. The stadium will host its first match on 5 September when Juventus faces Parma.
