Latin dance club plans expansion
Latin dance club operator Bardello is planning to expand its business with 30 new UK venues in the next five years, and aims to open the first site in spring 2009.
Tamworth-based Bardello has appointed property firm Colliers CRE to drive the expansion programme and is searching for sites between 7,500sq ft (696sq m) and 10,000sq ft (929sq m). It is primarily looking for sites in the Midlands and South East England, particularly in London suburbs or as part of leisure schemes.
Customers of the dance club are offered lessons in a variety of styles including the Mambo, Salsa and the Jive. The venture is funded in partnership with the Universal Payment Group.
Ross Kirton, associate director at Colliers CRE, said: "Interactive entertainment is really big at the moment and Bardello is a concept which will appeal to a wide customer base. Older clientele will also be attracted to its dance competitions as will young single professionals and couples in their late 20s and 30s.
"The introduction of dance lessons aims to help the operator maximise revenue early in the week when pubs and bars tend to be quieter."
It is understood that Bardello has been in talks with companies in the North West to cash in on the popularity of TV's Strictly Come Dancing.
