University of Stirling opens doors to £20m sports centre and health club
The University of Stirling has opened its new £20m sports and fitness centre.
The building, designed by architects FaulknerBrowns, will feature three key areas; a 100+ station fitness suite, a strength and conditioning suite and a performance gym.
There will also be group exercise studios, a three-court sports hall, an indoor group cycle studio and three Outrace functional rigs.
The site will be one of the UK’s first facilities to launch the Technogym Excite Live line, a range of fully connected cardio equipment, which offers students and athletes a personalised training experience tailored to their specific goals and needs.
The conditioning suite has been kitted out by BLK BOX and Eleiko.
The university's executive director of sport, Cathy Gallagher, said: "The iconic new sports complex underscores our status as Scotland’s university for sporting excellence and creates a facility that enhances the world-class student experience."
The new facilities opened to students, staff and existing fitness members on Monday 16 November.
